LIPI  – Leadership in Parental Involvement (and Engagement)

The Leadership in Parental Involvement (and Engagement) (LIPI) program aims to empower motivated last-mile providers and professionals within the community. In various contexts, “the last mile” refers to the final stage or segment of a process or journey, often involving the delivery of goods, services, or information to end-users or consumers. The term originated in the telecommunications industry, where it described the challenge of providing connectivity to individual homes and businesses at the end of the network. Since then, it has been widely adopted across different fields to denote the final leg of distribution or delivery networks. The concept of the last mile has also been applied to other sectors, such as healthcare, education, and community development, where the focus is on reaching and serving the final recipients or beneficiaries of services, often in excluded communities. Exclusion could arise from gender, geography, infrastructural limitations, or social groupings due to various socioeconomic and sociocultural factors such as poverty, caste, religion.

These motivated last-mile professionals include teachers, principals, educators, frontline medical providers, community health workers, and community leaders. LIPI encourages and empowers them to educate, support, and guide parents of adolescents. By equipping these last-mile champions with the necessary skills and knowledge, LIPI seeks to ensure the proper and holistic development and growth of adolescents within the community.
